distilled water

iron(III) chloride solution Xn    R 22-38-41    S 26-39

Test procedure

• One adds 1-2 ml iron(III) chloride solution, which should be well diluted, if necessary one further adds distilled water.
• One adds 1 drop of acetylacetone. Immediately a vibrant blood-red color, similiar to the result with thiocyanate, is produced.

Disposal

• The residues can be discharged into the drainage.
